Description

Join us for a special evening fireside chat on November.22nd with a fresh conversation around a new vision for collaborative healthcare leadership in British Columbia with Doctors of BC President Eric Cadesky and Pharmacy Leaders of Tomorrow.

Where are we now and where do we really need to get to? How do we get there and are we ready to serve the evolving health needs of British Columbians in 2030? How can physicains and pharmacists truly co-manage patient along their journey and what is the significance of grassroots innovation in this?

About Eric:

Dr. Cadesky is a full-service family physician working in Vancouver. He is currently President-Elect of Doctors of BC, having served on the board since 2012. He was the medical coordinator at Louis Brier Home and Hospital from 2009-2017 and continues to care for people in residential care. Dr. Cadesky actively teaches and is clinical faculty at UBC where he also chaired the Practice Survival Skills conference from 2008-2017. He is a published author of fiction and nonfiction. An avid traveler, he was chair of the board of Fashioning Dreams, a nonprofit income generation project supporting HIV-positive people in South Africa and he created MeKeeper, a free patient health record app used around the world.

Dr Cadesky steps into the role of President after holding executive board positions such as Chair of the General Assembly and Honorary Secretary Treasurer. He sees his involvement with Doctors of BC as an opportunity to bring about change for the profession but also for patients throughout B

About Doctors of BC:

Doctors of BC is a democratic Association representing 14,000 physician members. Our dual-structure governance model centers on a Representative Assembly to ensure members’ views are fully represented and a Board of Directors that has the legal and fiduciary responsibility to manage the affairs of the Association.

The 9-person Board oversees the activities and internal affairs of the Association and sets strategic direction and policy. The 106-member Representative Assembly (RA) provides wide-ranging representation from: all geographical areas of the province, GPs/FPs and specialists, those practicing in rural and First Nations communities, medical students, residents, those members in early years of practice, as well as the Canadian Medical Association.
